The resort has a large swimming pool and common barbeques, little things that go over very well on a holiday. Visitors to Burnt Pine can take a leisurely stroll through the town – the small restaurants, pubs, bakeries and shops are showcase cuisine and crafts uniquely Norfolk and totally kitschy. For first-timers, the Norfolk Island National Park has a startling number of endemic flora and fauna – species only found on Norfolk and nowhere else in the world! This is because of the island’s protected environment for many thousands of years. Birdwatchers, hikers and botanists will spend many a happy day in the park’s trails. Plus, the park has some great hiking routes.
The Emily Bay Lagoon is a protected marine reserve, and it’s superb for a swim, snorkelling, or relaxing on the beach. Oh, and we’d highly recommend checking out the the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area, commonly known as KAVHA.
