Fancy a moment of English summer in Norfolk Island? Hideaway Holidays is showcasing the superb Tea Shire Drive this week to make a Norfolk holiday a real treat for everyone coming to this picturesque slice of paradise.

Tea Shire Drive: What It’s All About

Teh Tea Shire Drive Horse and Carriages are a family-owned and operated business in Norfolk Island. The enterprise was born out of love for Norfolk island, a wish to showcase its rustic beauty with visitors in a manner hitherto not done. In 2019, the team imported Norfolk’s first ever shire horse to transform the vision of theirs into reality.

100 Acres — The Horse and Carriage Tour

As of writing, Tea Shire Drive operates the one one horse and carriage tour — 100 Acres. Visitors embark on a cruise of the picturesque 100 Acre reserve, as the soothing rhythm of clopping hooves and the occasional neighs blanket them with a sense of security and gentle serenity. As the carriage rolls through the island’s iconic Morton Bay fig trees, guests have a holiday’s worth of time to soak in the views and appreciate Norfolk’s unique flora, fauna and untrammelled charms.

The 100 Acre tour is an exhilarating ride for the kids, a lovable bonding time for parents and an easy-paced adventure for silver travellers. With a duration of approximately two hours, Norfolk Island holidaymakers have plenty of moments to make memories.

Post-Clomp: What’s Next On The Plate?

This horse and carriage tour — a handsome shire horse pulling an Elizabethan-inspired timber carriage — passing by fig trees and verdant greenery, is absolutely reminiscent of an English summer (or autumn, depending when you are holidaying in Norfolk Island). But the experience doesn’t end when the carriage stops. Back at the Tea Shire Drive, guests are invited for a cup of piping-hot Norfolk Island tea (which the family grows itself), and fresh bread before bidding adieu for the day.
