This tour is a journey into the origins of the Norfolk cuisine, with distinct culinary experiences as waypoints. The journey begins with holidaymakers meeting a traditional Norfolk salt farmer. The salt maker extracts sea salt from Norfolk seawater using indigenous techniques, handed down one generation to the next and sample the local beef – cooked just right, with fresh sea salt. The next leg of the journey is a demonstration of indigenous cooking techniques, passed down unchanged by Tahitian foremothers. Holidaymakers get to dig into traditional fare, including our favourite – delicious banana fritters. Next, guests get to explore Norfolk’s tea industry, which prides itself on its wide variety of teas like Earl Grey, and modern brews like Iced Berry and masala chai!
The journey culminates with a visit to a local beekeeper. Visitors get to taste local honey, fresh fruits and budding apiculturists get to learn all about maintaining beehives and producing honey.
